BREADY could be crowned NW Premiership champions on Sunday, with a game to spare, if results go their way this weekend.

Following the wash-out of the Senior Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, a revised schedule of fixtures has been drawn up this weekend with two of the last eight cup ties, at Ardmore and Newbuildings going ahead on Saturday and the other two, at Eglinton and Bready on Sunday.

But, it still leaves room for three Premiership games to be played this weekend and if Bready win at Eglinton on Saturday, while they are playing their Senior Cup game against Ballyspallen on Sunday they will be keeping a close watch on the two league games that day.

If Newbuildings win at Ardmore and Fox Lodge beat Donemana then Bready could have an unassailable lead at the top of the Premiership table, depending on the points collected in the respective matches.

Until the Senior Cup ties had to be rearranged, the Premiership was due to completed on Sunday with a full league programme but those games have been put back to the following Saturday, with the Senior Cup semi-finals planned for Sunday August 22.

The complication to that scenario is if Brigade win their All-Ireland T20 Cup semi-final on Sunday, with the final now set to be played on August 22. So if Brigade beat Ardmore in the Senior Cup quarter-final they would have a double date that day.

The plan would be play their semi-final the previous day and leave Brigade with the little matter of four Premiership games to rearrange possibly long after the title has been decided!

An updated fixture list for the weekend of August 21-22 will be confirmed early next week.
