Bready are through to the North West's Women's Cup final but they were given a real scare by a spirited Killyclooney side who were inspired by teenager Cody Wallace.

Wallace top scored with an unbeaten 18 as Killyclooney scored 55 for 3 in their 15 overs, with Charlene Dougherty chipping in with 14.

Steph Wilkinson and Jemma Rankin conceded just six runs in their three overs spells, while the wicket takers were Sophie Killen (1-8) and Vanessa Buchanan (1-12).

Bready Women

Any thoughts Bready would coast to the final were quickly dispelled as Gail Nelson trapped Kaylee Barnard (3) lbw in her second over to give the hosts an early boost.

Cody Wallace (3-9) then took three wickets in four balls as she dismissed Abbi McKnight, Jemma Rankin and Steph Wilkinson to really set the cat among the pigeons.

When Sophie Killen was run out for 1, Bready had slumped to 15 for 5 and were in real danger of being ousted,

However, Alana Dalzell steadied the nerves with an undefeated 28 (3 fours) as she and Rachel Hepburn (9*) added an unbroken 41 to set up a final decider against Fox Lodge.

That game will be this Friday, August 27th starting at 6pm, although the organisers are hopeful if both teams agree to begin earlier if possible.
