Fox Lodge beat Ardmore by eight wickets to win the Midweek Cup, completing a league and cup double for the Ballymagorry side.

Batting first, Ardmore openers Mark Chambers (22) and Thomas Brolly (19) gave their side a slow but steady start in the face of excellent bowling by Levi Kerr (1-14) and Ali Doherty (1-17) in particular.

Edrees upped the tempo with 4 sixes in a hard-hit 30, before becoming one for three wickets for Craig Doherty (3-17).

Paul Brolly (20) added late runs, and a final total of 127 for 8, while below par, offered the Bleachgreen side hope.

Early wickets for George Brolly and Sean Gormley increased that hope at 25 for 2 in the fifth over.

However, from 53 for 2 at the halfway point of the innings, Aidan Logue and Ali Doherty stepped on the gas as a flurry of boundaries saw the 75 runs they required coming in the next five overs.

The pair both scored fifties as they shared an unbroken third wicket stand of 103, with Logue hitting six fours in his 59 not out, while Doherty hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in his unbeaten 50.
