Both Alana and Zara will remain with their North West clubs, that they are very passionate about but both will play for Phoenix when the opportunity arises in the summer.

Lara is delighted to join Phoenix and says, Im looking forward to playing with a new team! Its going to be a year with plenty of learning and a chance for the girls to play at a higher level and gain a lot of experience. Im looking forward to getting stuck in and helping the team out, its going to be a good summer.

Ashlee, who along with Lara is in the Super Series set-up says on joining, I can't wait. I have obviously never played cricket in Ireland, but I am really excited about the opportunity to join the club.

"The club has a huge opportunity to make their mark in First Division this season and I can't wait to be a part of that.

Phoenix Women Head Coach Amy Kenealy  (pictured right)welcomed the players, saying: Im really excited about having four new players to the club.

"They are each great characters, and we are privileged to be able to bring them in. They have a diverse range of experience behind them, Lara and Ashlee will also jump in and enhance our coaching team.

"All four, along with Georgina Dempsey are involved in Super 2s, and we have a number of other players who are keen to compete and play at that level as well.

"We have a young and hugely promising squad and looking forward to seeing it all come together this year.
