Merrion cricketer Daniel Forkin has made a dream start to his scholarship in England with a Man-of-the-Match display on his debut for Queen's College against Clifton College.

The teenage spinner claimed 2-26 in a six-overs spell, as well as taking two catches, one of which was described as 'a brilliant effort on the boundary'.

Daniel Forkin who has played youth cricket for Ireland

Daniel is following a familiar route for Irish cricketers in recent times, with Ireland youth internationals Fionn Hand, Mitchell Thompson and Stephen Doheny all attending the famous Taunton educational establishment in recent years.

Tipped by CricketEurope back in 2018 as 'a player to watch for the future' he looks to be continuing on an upward trajectory.
