The NCU season will get under way on May 8th with Lagan Valley Steels T20 action preceding the hoped for return of 'longer format' matches.

The eight Premier League clubs will complete a round-robin series of seven games over four weeks, after which the top four finishers will play semi-finals and Final, scheduled for the 5th & 6th June.

The programme sees a full round of fixtures on Saturdays with another round split between Thursday and Friday nights each week.

A condensed competition that will ensure there is plenty of action for cricket followers in the early part of the 2021 season of which NCU General Manager Angela Platt said:

“After discussions with our own clubs and guidance from Sport Northern Ireland and the Department for Communities, we were able to develop this season schedule and help our clubs adhere to Covid-19 regulations."

It is hoped that, Government restrictions permitting, there will be a return to 'longer format' matches on 12th June but that is of course subject to change and dependent on the progress of easing of restrictions.

In the first round of matches, defending champions CIYMS take on Woodvale at Belmont while beaten finalists North Down travel to Carrickfergus Instonians host CSNI and Waringstown will entertain Lisburn at The Lawn.
