Brigade held a minute's silence in honor of their former player and Chairman Roy Torrens ahead of their match against Bready at Beechgrove on Saturday.

'Big Roy' sadly passed away in January and a book in his memory has just been published by the Cricket Writers of Ireland.

Brigade are celebrating 100 years at Beechgrove this season and there are plans to both celebrate that milestone, as well as honour Torrens, who played 30 times for Ireland and was team manger in the country's most successful period from 2005 to 2015.

Brigade won the game with Kyle Magee in particular impressing.

Elsewhere Kyle Dougherty was in the runs as Donemana beat Eglinton.

Ardmore's new professional Tyron Koen made his debut as Ardmore beat Ballyspallen at the Bleachgreen.

The South African failed to score but took two wickets in a convincing win, with Conor Brolly, Jared Wilson and Caolan Young all doing well with the ball, while Rachit Gaur, Mark Chambers and Brolly were in the runs.

Trevor McDermott scored a half century as Glendermott chased 166 to beat Bonds Glen, while Newbuildings beat Coleraine in another pre-season friendly.

The NW season starts next Saturday with seven T20 matches scheduled in the senior ranks.
