Bangor are hoping to maintain their Section One status after being given a second chance following Downpatrick's struggles.

It seemed as if the Seasiders had fallen through the relegation trap door along with Holywood but skipper Adam McCusker is hoping to make the most of their good fortune.

Speaking to the North Down Spectator he said: "We want to compete in every single game at this level.

"Long term, I want to see Bangor in the Premier Division.

"Promotion os a massive ask for this season, but long-term it's an achievable goal, as the NCU are considering increasing the size of the division."

Section One is starting the season with T20s, with a switch to the longer format as and when the regulations ease allowing clubhouse access.

Junior Northern Knight Adam Simmonite joins from CSNI, while Johnny Parker is also returning to Upritchard Park.

Despite the truncated season, Bangor enjoyed success with victory against Drumaness Super Kings in the Robinson Services Bowl.

Bangor begin the season with an away day trip to The Mall to take on Armagh on Saturday.
