Tyrone Kane signs with Phoenix
Irish international Tyrone Kane has joined Phoenix on a long-term deal from Merrion.
The 26 year-old has won 10 caps since his debut in 2015, including Ireland's first Test against Pakistan in 2018.
ďI am delighted to join such a great club steeped in history going back to1830," said Kane.
"Phoenix have an exciting and talented squad across the board, and I'm hoping I can add some experience as well as performances to an already well-rounded team.
"I am really looking forward to linking up with Stephen Moreton to take this team forward and push for silverware.Ē
He will join George Dockrell, who moved earlier this year from Leinster and Director of Cricket Stephen Moreton is pleased to have acquired a player of his calibre.
"We are delighted to bring Tyrone into the club on a long-term deal.
"He is a passionate, hungry cricketer who we believe has the ability of being Irelandís best all-rounder.
"Tyrone is captain of Munster Reds this year, and brings high quality, an excellent skill-set in all three discipines and fantastic energy to our club.
"I, personally am excited about what his electric personality will bring on and off the field - helping us compete for trophies and role-mode high class behaviours for our younger players.
"Tyrone is an exceptional person, someone Iíve known for a long time - and tried to bring with me anywhere Iíve been. He is fiercely loyal, so it hasnít been easy - but as with starting a new chapter and captaining Munster, and re-establishing himself at international level, he is excited about taking on a leadership role at Phoenix - and we are just as excited to have him.Ē
