LEINSTER

  • Captain-Hardus Venter
  • Out: George Dockrell, Monil Patel, Danny Coad.
  • In: Joey Carroll, Dev Ranolia, Bhavesh Lakhotia, Aviral Shukla.
  • Young players to look out for: Andrew and Mark Tonge.

It's been a hectic close season at Rathmines with three major departures, offset by four arrivals, including Joey Carroll (pictured).

The departure of Irish international George Dockrell is a major wrench for Leinster, who have also lost Monil Patel and Danny Coad.

That's a hell of a lot of talent and experience to replace, but they are helped by a quartet of talent in Joey Carroll, Dev Ranolia, Bhavesh Lakhotia, and Aviral Shukla.

There's no shortage of youth in the ranks too, and Andrew Tonge will be taking over the wicket keeping responsibilities, while Mark Tonge forms part of the seam attack. He had an excellent season in 2020 so the club are excited to see his growth since then.

"We have a young and exciting squad this year," said Jarryd Chetty.

"The lads have been working hard at practice so really excited to see what they can deliver on the pitch.

"Gareth Delany’s experience will be invaluable this season, he will play a major role in the success of the team."
