Bready left-hander Gavin Roultson turned 15 last week and enjoyed a late present as he helped the Magheramason side to an emphatic 152 run against Glendermott.

In just his second senior appearance he scored 35, sharing a stand of 94 with Sri Lankan professional Irosh Samarasooriya, who hit eight sixes in a quickfire 88.

David Rankin had earlier also made 88 as he and Irosh shared a century partnership as Bready posted 299 despite six wickets for Rectory skipper Alan Johnson.

The chase never got going with four more wickets to Steve Lazars, who continued to impress as Bready continued their unbeaten start to the season.

Roulston will captain the North West Under 15 side in this year’s interprovincial series which starts on July 5th, with Bready captain David Scanlon and Mark Olphert among the coaching staff.

He scored a half century in their warm-up win against North West Women last week.

The Women were due to play an interpro on Sunday against the NCU, but the fixture was cancelled as a precautionary measure after a Covid19 close contact alert, which also saw the scheduled league programme on Monday called off.
