There was to be no giant killing act today at Osborne Park as the Inst. 1st.XI dominated the Final to claim the Ulster Senior Schools' Cup by 211 runs.

It was always going to be a tough task for the 2nd.XI to continue the giant killing run that took them into the Final and so it proved to be. Once the 1st.XI posted a massive 260/7 in their 40 overs, the game was as good as over.

Semi-final centurion Thomas Johnston was outshone today, as his 41 was only the third highest score in the innings, Jack Dickson with 88 and Adam Ly 60 top of the list today, as Michael Glasgow and Josh Eagleson claimed a pair of wickets each.

In the reply it was Eagleson again who top scored with 20 as Adam Wylie (5-15) ripped through the 2nd.XI batting to ensure that there would be no surprises, the innings wrapped up with only 49 runs on the board.

A unique Final in what we hope has been a unique year for Schools' cricket in the NCU
