There was only one game in NCU Section One over the weekend, Sunday's bottom of the table clash between Muckamore and Bangor which would see the winners jump to joint 6th in the standings.

It was a century from Ewan Wilson that steered Muckamore to the points as he and Jamie Magowan retrieved the home side's fortunes from a precarious 15/3.

Their partnership was worth 122 when Magowan finally departed for 28, and when Wilson was seventh out for 111 the score was a healthy 196.

There were twelve overs remaining at that stage and Richard Keates made full use of them, slamming 8x4 and 1x6 in an unbeaten 59 that carried Muckamore to 275/8.

Adam Simmonite was the most successful Bangor bowler, his 3 wickets coming at a cost of 33 runs, while Will Simpson chipped in claiming 2-41.

The Bangor reply never threatened to get going. Only opener Michael Martin with 40 was able to get under way, but by the time the total passed a hundred the visitors had already lost seven wickets.

George Prince added late runs ending 41 not out, and Chris Pyper contributed a further 25, but the home win was by then assured of the win and when the final wicket fell at 175 the margin of victory was exactly 100 runs.

A win for Muckamore then that sees them move up the table to joint sixth leaving Bangor sharing the bottom spot with Templepatrick and Ballymena all still on eight points.
