Pembroke will meet Merrion in the Leinster Women's Senior final after wins against Clontarf and Leinster.

Mary Waldron's blistering 94 was the highlight of a comprehensive 135-run win for Pembroke against Clontarf at Sydney Parade.

The Irish international hit 15 fours and 2 sixes as she dominated stands of 78 for the first wicket with Louise Little (12) and 67 for the second with Shauna Kavanagh (25).

She looked destined for a century, but fell six short, bowled by Alice Walsh.

There was little respite for the beleaguered Clontarf attack though as Orla Prendergast (43*) and Eimear Mullen (13*) added 55 in the last five overs to finish on a daunting 205 for 3.

The chase never got going as Clontarf struggled against the Pembroke bowling unit, with the tone set by spearhead Prendergast who took 1-1 in her three overs spell.

There were two wickets apiece for Mhairi Nicoll, Kimli McDonald and Cliona Tucker as Clontarf made 70 - Laura Cullen (24*) and Alice Walsh (18) the only players to reach double figures.

There were runs aplenty in the other last four clash, with Cecelia Joyce inspiring Merrion in their clash with Leinster.

Irish skipper Laura Delany looked to have set Leinster on course for another final with a sublime unbeaten 106 in their total of 156 for 4.

'Dellers' hit 15 fours in her century from 65 balls, sharing a third wicket stand of 113 in 94 balls with Jenny Sparrow (28).

Merrion though were undaunted in the reply, led by veteran Cecelia Joyce, who rolled back the years with a superb unbeaten 72 from 49 balls (8 fours, 2 sixes).

The former Irish international shared stands of 57 for the first wicket and 78 in just 44 deliveries for the second with Rachel Delaney and Celeste Raack - both of whom made 36 to seal the eight wicket win with seven balls left.

The final will be held next Friday, July 23rd.
