Leah Paul's brilliant 146 powered Merrion Women to a comprehensive win against a Leinster side that had completed a fourth successive league title in midweek.

The Irish international left-hander hit 18 boundaries in her run-a-ball knock as Merrion piled on the runs - making 288 for 9.

She dominated a stand of 131 in 23 overs with Celeste Raack (28).

Leinster badly missed their international bowling duo of Eimear Richardson and Sophie MacMahon, and didn't help their cause by the concession of no fewer than 54 wides.

Beth Diamond (3-63) and Sophia Nulty (2-18) were their most successful bowlers.

In the reply, Irish skipper Laura Delany top scored with 61 from 58 balls (4 fours, 1 six) but only Ava Canning (21) offered any other resistance as they were dismissed for 142 - the margin of defeat, 146 runs the same as Paul's innings.

The Merrion bowling unit all did well, with two wickets apiece for Julianne Morrissey, Isabel Light, Rachel Delaney and Celeste Raack.
