Brigade beat Eglinton by 29 runs (DLS) in a dress rehearsal for this week's NW Senior Cup final.

Craig Averill hit ten boundaries in an unbeaten 68 from 75 balls as Eglinton made 141 - Scott Adair chipping in with 21.

The Brigade spinning triumvirate of Ifty Hussain (3-25), David Barr (2-14) and Ross Allen (2-34) had combined figures of 7 for 73, giving an indication that spin will form a big part of the upcoming two-innings clash.

Hussain then raced to 44 from 36 balls (7 fours, 1 six) as he and Barr (27*) shared an opening stand of 66.

Although Hussain's wicket saw a slowing of the rate, Brigade were still 29 ahead on DLS when play was halted after 20 overs.
