There was sad news this week with the death of Jim McDaid.

Jim was well known in North West sporting circles, being a keen golfer in more recent times after finishing his cricket career.

He played in the Fox Lodge Junior Cup winning team in 1970 along with his brother Philip, and both were also pivotal players in the Intermediate League winning team in 1973.

"Jim was a brilliant wicket keeper and was a former captain of our first team," said former team mate Adrian Heywood.

"He played the best part of his cricketing years with Fox Lodge along with a few years at Raphoe in between, having started in boys cricket with Strabane under John Devine."

Condolences to the family circle.
