The CWC League 2 carnival rolls on with another tri-series underway at Moosa Stadium in Pearland, Texas with Oman and Nepal joining the hosts.

Oman and the home team were first up today with the visitors choosing to bowl first after they won the toss. It initially looked to be a good decision as Steven Taylor was dismissed cheaply early on, but then the Omani fielders watched as Sushant Modani and USA captain Monank Patel put on a record ODI partnership for the hosts.

Patel was the first to bring up his century, the first in ODIs by an American on home soil, and eventually reached 130 from 101 balls before he was caught by Khawar Ali off his own bowling. The partnership added 209, the highest for any wicket in ODIs for the USA.

Modani was eventually the sixth man out having scored 111 as the run rate dried up a little. Nosthush Kenjige gave the innings some late order impetus with a 21 ball unbeaten 34 as his team reached 323-8 from their 50 overs. Khawar Ali was the pick of the Omani bowlers with 3-46.

Shoaib Khan and Ayaan Khan both scored 59 in Omanís reply but there were no other contributions of note as they were bowled out for 209. Ali Khan was in fine form with the ball, taking 5-20, the best bowling figures for the USA in ODIs to help his team complete a 114 run win.

Oman are back in action today with a match against Nepal, whilst USA will next play on Saturday, also against Nepal.
