Campbell College clinched a historic first Ulster Schools' Cup title after a thrilling two-wicket win over favourites RBAI in front of their own supporters.

In a decider reduced to 35 overs due to rain, 'Inst' lost skipper Adam Ly early, one of five wickets for his Campbell counterpart Zac Solomon (pictured right with the trophy).

Rory Ellerby (28) and James Rose (27) steadied the innings with a second wicket stand of 61 in 13 overs to lay a solid platform, before both were dismissed in quick succession by Carson McCullough (2-20).

Tom Crothers hit five boundaries as he top-scored with 52, adding 68 for the fourth wicket with Adam Leckey (22) to propel his side to a challenging total of 183 for 7.

Ireland Under 19 international Ryan Hunter proved the Campbell hero in an epic chase as his hard-hit 84 was pivotal in their success.

Hunter and Carson McCullough (39) added 107 for the fourth wicket to break the back of the chase, but wickets for Adam Leckey (3-27), Tom Crothers (2/11) and Robert Craigan (2-38) ensured a tense conclusion, as Campbell got over the line with seven balls and two wickets to spare.

Congratulations to both schools for contributing to a wonderful showpiece.
