Merrion left-arm spinner Amish Sidhu is leaving Anglesea Road and will be returning to Phoenix for the forthcoming campaign.

It's a blow for Merrion, with the highly rated left-arm spinner topping their - and the Leinster Division one - bowling charts with 43 wickets at 15.60 apiece last season, including a best-bowling return of 6 for 15.

It's not all bad news for Merrion though, as they will have former Hills professional Daya Singh as their overseas player.

They will also have former UAE Under 19 international Punya Mehra in their ranks - he is currently studying in Dublin.

Former Irish international Dom Joyce has taken the captaincy reins for the season.

In other news, North County opening bowler Usman Azhar is on the move, switching from North County to Strabane.

He enjoyed a very fruitful 2022, taking 44 wickets at 16.33 for the Balrothery side, forming a potent opening attack with new ball partner Abdul Ghaffar.
