A very strong MCC Ireland team that included seven internationals beat their Scotland counterparts by four wickets in a T20 clash at Rathmines.

Patrick Ritchie's 29 (2 fours, 2 sixes) was the best of the Scot's modest looking 113 - four wickets for Fiachra Tucker (4-20) and one apiece for Barry McCarthy, Fionn Hand, Harry Tector and Peter Chase.

Tector cleared the ropes three times in a top-score of 31 in the chase, while there were runs too for Fionn Hand (24*), PJ Moor (23), and Barry McCarthy (21) as the hosts sealed a four-wicket win with two overs to spare.

Niall Alexander (3-15) was the pick of the visitors attack, who had better fortunes in their game with MCC South-East, winning by 10 runs.

The MCC Women embarked on a three-day tour of the North West, which unfortunately was badly affected by the weather, with only one of three scheduled games completed.

The match at Eglinton saw MCC post 141, with skipper Lydia Clements making an unbeaten 49.

There were four wickets for Lucy Carmichael on her home ground and three for Alana Dalzell - including the high profile duo of Claire Taylor and Cecelia Joyce.

Dalzell's 28 was the best of the hosts 92 all out - losing by 13 runs on DLS, with five wickets for Marilyn Smith (5-19) and four for Rachael Potter (4-20).
