There was welcome recognition for Ireland wicket-keeper batsman Lorcan Tucker who was named earlier this week in the Guardian Test side of 2023.

The 27 year-old played four Tests, scoring 351 runs at an average of 43.88 to make the line-up ahead of Alex Carey of Australia.

The Pembroke gloveman scored his maiden century for Ireland in the first Test of the year against Bangladesh, following it up with 80 and 45 in the two games against Sri Lanka, while he also scored 44 in the Lord's Test versus England.

Tucker has played 115 games in total for Ireland across all formats since his debut back in 2016. scoring 2161 runs at 23.24, while taking 116 catches and making 10 stumpings.
