BREADY BUNCH IN THE TROPHIES

It’s been a fantastic season for the youth teams of Bready, winning five of the six cup competitions at youth level, as well as claiming the Under 15 All-Ireland. They have the chance to add to that this week with two more Irish cups up for grabs, while the third XI that won the League Three cup at the weekend against Newbuildings also contained a fair sprinkling of youngsters.

The facilities on offer at the Tyrone club are of course the best in the region which makes it an attractive proposition, but the number of passionate coaches, allied to the club ethos of encouraging youth development and progress are equally crucial in their success on and off the field.

“It’s been another wonderful year at Bready for our young players who continue to shine regionally and on the international stage,” said club Chairman Norman Allen.

“The club has worked hard over the years to produce players and give them a pathway to showcase their talent.  We're blessed to have many coaches who are passionate about our club and cricket. Parents bring their kids to Bready not only because of the facilities and coaching we offer but because we have a track record of promoting youth players male and female to play in our senior teams, and they also see the likes of Alana Dalzell and Conor Olphert who have made it to the top and played with Ireland.

“A major part of our youth's success are the parents and grandparents who support us in our efforts to improve and grow ‘Teambready’.

“Finally, most of the credit goes to the kids themselves who are enthusiastic and cricket mad and can be found in the nets at Bready practicing anytime they're not actually playing.”

There’s no doubt the future is bright for Bready, who have laid solid foundations for the years ahead.
