Lara Maritz had a winning debut on her first-class debut in South Africa at the weekend.

The Balbriggan and Holywood all-rounder featured for the South West Districts against Free State.

The 23-year-old Irish international hit two boundaries in her 8 as her side staged a late rally to post 141.

With the ball, Maritz did well, removiing the opposition opener in her 1-10 off three overs to help SWD to a 37-run win.

Maritz, a Community Coach in Fingal, will be hoping to impress in South Africa as she tries to regain her place in the Irish Women's squad, having won the last of her 43 caps in 2021.
