There was an early Christmas present for Lisburn's Rebecca Lowe as she was called up to the Ireland Under 19 squad for the World Cup in Malaysia next month.
Lowe, the NCU Premier League Player of the Year, replaces fellow teenager Alice Tector who has been forced to withdraw from Glenn Querl's side due to a stress fracture.
It's a blow for Tector who was also ruled out of Ireland's Academy squad that took part in last week's T10 European tournament in Spain.
The 16 year-old has won five caps since her debut earlier this summer against Sri Lanka, and who also featured against England.
Lowe was part of the successful Lisburn side that tasted Ireland All-Ireland Youth cup glory, and who has also played for the Northern Knights.
