Waringstown have confirmed the signing of Daniel van der Merwe as their overseas professional for the 2025 season.

The Premier League champions have opted to recruit the 21-year-old all-rounder as a replacement for former Pakistan Test bowler Bilawal Bhatti.

Van Der Merwe comes highly recommended to The Lawn side by former player Cobus Pienaar and should be a great asset as they look to defend their League title.

He is a left-arm pace bowler who has taken ten wickets in his five first-class matches to date, and also a more than useful middle-order batsman.
