It was a tale of two centuries with Knockharley skipper Daneyaal Janjua clubbing nine sixes in an unbeaten 100 from 74 balls that propelled his team to what looked like a formidable total of 271 for 7 - the late carnage seeing 69 runs coming from the final 32 balls of the innings.

There were runs throughout the Knockharley top order with good supporting innings from Muhammad Nawaz (36), Sayed Zubair (33), debutant Ehtesham Ahmed (29) and Mubeen Ali (26).

For the hosts, there were two wickets apiece for Kripesh Shetty, Zeeshan Mumtiaz and Henry Dall.

The chase saw Gareth Morgan depart cheaply, but the ship was steadied thanks to a half century stand between Mick Cotter (23) and Dall.

A rain break meant an adjusted target of 168 in 24 overs, and what appeared a challenging task proved to be starightforward thanks to the efforts of Terenure skipper Dall.

He smashed 18 boundaries in a superb display of strokesmanship, reaching his hundred in 74 balls to seal the win with two overs in hand.

Jack Condie (2-37) was the pick of the visitors attack.

Terenure's reward is a home tie in the first round proper against The Hills in four weeks' time on May 16th.
