Delany and Sheedy power Leinster past Rush
Laura Delany and Alexandra Sheedy produced a spectacular batting display as Leinster Women chased down 202 to defeat Rush by nine wickets with 13 balls to spare.

Rush had appeared strongly placed after reaching 201 for one from their 20 overs, with Ellie McGee finishing agonisingly short of a century.
McGee struck 16 fours and one six in an unbeaten 98 from 60 balls. She shared a commanding opening partnership of 150 with Cate Pedersen, whose 58 from 46 deliveries contained six boundaries.
After Pedersen was run out, Elizabeth Cohr maintained the momentum with an unbeaten 24 from 18 balls, including five fours.
Leinster lost Rebecca Rolfe for 11 with the total on 14, Cohr taking the only wicket, but Rush’s hopes quickly disappeared during a remarkable second-wicket partnership.
Sheedy struck 13 fours in her unbeaten 79 from 50 balls, while Delany was even more destructive. The Ireland international hammered 15 fours and one six in a brilliant unbroken 96 from only 51 deliveries.
The pair added an unbroken 188, scoring freely against every member of the Rush attack as Leinster surged to victory. Delany narrowly missed a century, but her innings ensured Leinster completed one of the season’s most impressive run-chases.
