Hunter stars as North Kildare see off Cork Harlequins

North Kildare produced a convincing all-round performance to beat Cork Harlequins by six wickets after dismissing the hosts for just 113.

Nicholas Hunter was the star with the ball, ripping through the Harlequins middle order to claim five for 15.

Cork never managed to build a significant partnership after a steady opening, with Callum Stevenson making 16 and Adam Hickey 12. Dineth Sumanasinghe top-scored with 17, while Seanan Jones contributed 15, but wickets fell regularly once Hunter entered the attack.

He removed Sumanasinghe, Devon Joyce, Jones, Preston Searra and Umer Khan as Harlequins slipped from 64 for two to 92 for seven.

Nurulain Boda completed the job with two for 25, while Abdul Aryan took two wickets as Cork were bowled out in the 29th over.

North Kildare made light work of the target despite losing Ankit Pareek for a brisk 25 and Yash Kalasannavar for a duck.

Moize Haider anchored the chase with 44 from 65 balls, striking eight fours, while Yashraj Mate ensured there would be no late drama with an unbeaten 31.

Seanan Jones took two for 30, but North Kildare reached their modest target just before the halfway stage to complete a comfortable victory.
