The Hills extend advantage with emphatic Knockharley win

The Hills strengthened their position at the top of the table with a commanding 111-run victory over Knockharley after another impressive all-round performance.

Batting first, the leaders were dismissed for 211, with Nathan Rooney providing the backbone of the innings through a fluent 48 from 41 deliveries, striking nine fours.

Max Robertson added a run-a-ball 26, while Andrew Kavanagh contributed a patient 25 and Muzamil Sherzad made 24. Tomas Rooney Murphy chipped in with 18 late in the innings to help The Hills beyond the 200 mark.

Daneyaal Janjua and Syed Mehdi were the most successful Knockharley bowlers, each claiming three wickets, while Kashif Ali and Jack Condie took two apiece.

Knockharley never threatened to get close once their reply began.

Cian Nulty struck early to remove Sayed Zubair, before Killian McGrane dismissed Syed Mehdi and Mubeen Ali as the chase quickly faltered.

Don Retty offered the only sustained resistance with 32 from 64 balls, but wickets continued to tumble around him.

Yaseen Sherzad then ripped through the lower order, returning outstanding figures of three for 12 from six overs, including three maidens.

Febin Manoj also impressed with two for 12, while McGrane finished with two wickets as Knockharley were bowled out for exactly 100.

The emphatic victory saw The Hills collect another valuable haul of points and extend their advantage at the summit, further strengthening their grip on the title race as the season moves towards its decisive stages.
