Dutch finish on a high as Ackermann spins Oman to defeat
The Netherlands rounded off their ICC World Cricket League Two campaign in convincing fashion with a seven-wicket victory over Oman to secure third place in the final standings.

Colin Ackermann starred with the ball, taking four wickets for just 23 runs, before half-centuries from Cedric de Lange and Zach Lion-Cachet ensured the Dutch cruised to their target of 183 with 14 overs to spare.
Oman had struggled throughout their innings, eventually being dismissed for 182 in 49.2 overs as the Netherlands bowlers maintained a stranglehold on proceedings.
Skipper Jatinder Singh provided an early spark with 30 from 36 balls, including five boundaries, but his dismissal left Oman struggling at 42 for two. They slipped further to 80 for four before Mujibur Ali and captain Vinayak Shukla attempted to repair the damage.
The pair added 58 for the fifth wicket, with Mujibur making 44 from 78 deliveries and Shukla contributing 38 from 50 balls. However, Ackermann ensured there would be no late fireworks, his excellent ten-over spell including a maiden as he claimed four for 23. Shariz Ahmad (2-44) and Kyle Klein (2-38) provided valuable support, while Aryan Dutt was particularly economical, conceding just 22 runs from his ten overs.
The Netherlands made a positive start to their reply through skipper Max O'Dowd, who struck three fours and two sixes in a rapid run-a-ball 29. His dismissal at 39 brought Lion-Cachet to the crease, and alongside de Lange he effectively settled the contest.
The pair shared a superb second-wicket partnership of 140, with de Lange striking eight boundaries in his 79 from 107 balls. Lion-Cachet was equally impressive, making 68 from 75 deliveries, including six fours. Both were eventually run out with victory virtually assured, leaving Scott Edwards and Ackermann to complete the formalities.
It was a fittingly emphatic finish for the Netherlands, who ended their campaign in third place, and will now focus on their preparations for the vital World Cup Qualifiers in February.
