With two games still to play, we now know the outcomes of the qualifier play-off. USA and UAE will go to the qualifier - USA for the first time since 2005 - and Canada have taken ODI status off Papua New Guinea.

USA secured their spot with a win over Jersey. Batting first they were bowled out for 231, Steven Taylor top scoring with 79. Ben Ward was the pick of the Jersey bowlers with 4-39.

An Ali Khan blitz in the early overs in which he took five wickets - including three in four balls in his third over - saw Jersey firmly on the backfoot on 17-5. But Asa Tribe led a fightback, first putting on 34 with Jonty Jenner before a superb 97 run partnership for the seventh wicket with Ben Ward.

That partnership ended when Tribe was dismissed for 75 after a quite shocking lbw decision by the umpire - not for the first time in this tournament - whilst Ward reached 46 before he was out 20 runs later. Julius Sumerauer and Chuggy Perchard made a good fist of closing the gap, putting on 32 before the former was dismissed for 35 as Ali Khan came back into the attack.

Khan bowled Miles soon afterwards to finish with 7-32 - the best figures for USA in one-day matches - as Jersey were bowled out for 206, losing by 25 runs.

In the other game today, Namibia scored 267-9 from their 50 overs against Canada, Shaun Fouché top scoring with 83. Canada were then bowled out for just 156 to lose by 111 runs. However it wasn't all doom and gloom for the Canadians as USA beating Jersey meant that Jersey can not pass Canada and therefore Canada have regained ODI status for the first time since 2014.

The results today also mean that UAE have also booked their ticket to the World Cup Qualifier - where teams are level on points and number of wins, the first tie-breaker is head to head result. As UAE - on 6 points - have beaten both Namibia and Canada, the only other teams that can finish on six points, they are sure to finish second.

There is still the matter of two matches to come tomorrow though, with Jersey taking on the UAE and Canada coming up against Papua New Guinea.
