The Bready duo of Millie Spence - who hit seven boundaries in her top score of 33 - and Sophie Hamilton (14) looked to be steering their side home with a second wicket stand of 42 before the collapse. There were two wickets apiece also for Erin Knight and Hayley Moore. Leinster's total of 113 saw Genevieve Morrissey top score with 23, but the NW will reflect on the concession of 40 extras, which was the decisive factor in a low scoring game. Jessica Cooke had three scalps, while there were two each for Tiara Mitchell and Hannah Skinner.

Hosts the North West made it two wins from two as they edged out Leinster 2's in a tense match at Eglinton. The NW fielding was razor sharp, effecting three run-outs, while there were two wickets apiece for Erin Mowbray, Mansi Bhavsar and Tori Mitchell, with the other for skipper Jodie Spence. The hosts made a steady start with openers Amelia Guy and Jodie Spence, but 23 for 0 became 28 for 4 with Juliet Gargan (2-3) and Arisha Foysal (2-6) threatening a major collapse. The bowlers were on top throughout, with McDonald taking 3 for 7, and two wickets apiece for Olivia Morrow and Rebecca Lowe. The concession of 50 extras was to prove a crucial factor in what was a low scoring game. Leinster 2 66 (16.3 overs; Tara O'Brien 3-8, Aisling Lawlor 2-4) (Leinster 2 target 281 in 45 overs)
There was an all-Leinster clash at Park Avenue with Leinster firsts proving too strong for the seconds. Batting first they racked up 285 with Sarah Prendergast top-scoring with 45, and runs too for Erin Knight (31) and Aisling Lawlor (24). The series continues in the North West region next week.
