Ireland 131/3 (20 overs: A Hunter 73)
Ireland faced another huge chase with contributions from the usual suspects Kayla Reyneke and Simone Lourens before Karabo Meso turned the knife with a 20 ball blitz in the final overs. With only Amy Hunter, and briefly Freya Sargent able to score at anything approaching the required rate Ireland were never in with any chance of a win. Amy Hunter raised her half century off 39 balls but it was a lone hand in another defeat.

South Africa 105/9 (14.4 overs; S Lourens 29, D Ramlakan 21; A Maguire 4-17, F Sargent 2-29)
Lot to do for Ireland to avoid the clean sweep as they struggle to 51 for 4 at the halfway point of their innings despite 21 from Freya Sargent, Lara McBride scored an even time 33 adding 48 for the 5th wicket with Alice Walsh. 104 looks well below par and it will take a special effort by the bowlers if they are to get a consolation win. Aimee Maguire with three wickets has done superbly to give her side a real chance. The wickets keep falling and 17 are still needed with 9 down. Four overthrows followed by a boundary proved costly and the hosts squeak home.

Ireland set a tough 148 to win and keep the series alive as Karabo Meso, who played for Holywood this year top scored for the hosts with a 44-ball 60. The Hills' left-arm spinner Aimee Maguire the pick of the Irish attack picking up four wickets. With none of the top 6 reaching double figures Ireland slumped to 42/6 at the drinks break, and then it was just a question of how big the victory margin would be. In the end it was a very comfortable 58 runs to give South Africa a 3-0 lead in the series with the final two games on Friday.

South Africa 94/4 (10.2 overs: D Ramlakan 19, K Reyneke 19, F Cowling 18*; F Sargent 2-18, N MacNulty 1-12, A Maguire 1-21)
Freya Sargent took two wickets (CricketEurope)
All a bit of a struggle for Ireland with Freya Sargent the only batter to pass 20. This morning's top scorers Amy Hunter and Alice Tector gone early and the rest of the batting distinctly unconvincing. Another rapid start to the chase by South Africa, positive play and powerful shots. Their aggression costs them wickets but they keep the pace up and Fay Cowling wraps up the win by dumping Aimee Maguire over the ropes at deep square. Another one-sided game, with Ireland unable to post a meaningful total. Hard to see that changing much on today’s evidence.
