The Oyster Oval in Tralee  played host to the final fixture of the 2023 season for the Cork Harlequins 5th XI.

County Kerry CC has one of the most picturesque grounds in the country, with sweeping mountain views and the iconic Blennerville Windmill providing the perfect backdrop.

Quins batted first, and amassed a competitive total of 245 from their 30 overs. Notable contributions from Charlie Magee (35) Glenn Brokenshire (32 n.o) Aidan Brokenshire (30) Aksh Khurana (29) and Captain Paul Bridgeman (26).

For Kerry, the standout bowlers were young Vishnu with 4-39 and Kerry Captain Richie Rutland claiming 4-34.

In the reply, Kerry unfortunately were never able to gain any real momentum, but put up staunch resistance before being dismissed for 79 in the 23rd over.

For the Quins bowlers,  Cillian Barton snared 3-6 with an excellent spell of quality line and length seamers. Martin Borisov (2-9) and quick Aidan Brokenshire (2-14) accounted for most of the wickets to fall.

It was a great way to round out the season for our young team, mentored by our old timers. We look forward to season 2024 and thank County Kerry CC for their wonderful hospitality as always.
