WOODVALE

  • Captain: Harry Warke
  • Players in: Ronan Restieaux, James Martin, Matthew Peake.
  • Players out: James Hall
  • Overseas professional: Ludwig Kaestner.

Harry Warke has taken the captain's armband and is looking forward to the new season at Ballygomartin road.

"In terms of players out, we have lost James Hall back to his home club Waringstown," began Warke. "We thank Jimmy for his time at Woodvale, the contributions he made throughout his three years with us and wish him all the best as he moves back to his home club. Thankfully, we have no other notable players out.

"We are welcoming back Ronan Restieaux who was with us two years ago and look forward to have him back to bolster both our batting and bowling lineups.

"We also welcome James Martin and Matthew Peak, joining us from Dundrum and Instonians respectively.

"We look forward to integrating them into the club and know they will improve our depth which we desperately need. James with his right-arm medium-fast bowling and powerful batting and Matthew Peak with his left-arm seam bowling.

"I am really looking forward to taking on the challenge of captaining the side, following in the footsteps of a number of family members to do so over the years and taking over from Jamie Gibson.

"We as a club know we weren’t able to perform to the best of our standards last year but we hope to put it right this year and compete in all competitions.

"We welcome back Ludwig Kaestner as our oversees professional and we hope he can build on his 1000-run season last year. We have plenty of quality within our ranks including the ever-dependable quality of Ruhan Pretorious.

"In terms of young players to look out for, Ronan is returning as a now 20 year-old with more experience under his belt having been playing a high standard of cricket back at home in New Zealand.

"In addition, Aditya Adey has just spent a winter in India playing cricket so we hope he can bring this experience into the Premier League this year coming.

"We have much to look forward to in the Premier League this season."
