Terenure

Captain: Dónal Lynch
Players out: Bhavic Tukrel
In: Zeeshan Mumtaz, Devansh Singh
Young players to watch: Gethin Kelleher, Gareth Morgan, Benjamin Dillon, Ryan Smith

Terenure have been something of a cup team over the last few years, but captain Dónal Lynch is looking to add some consistency to mount a promotion challenge.

They have lost the influential Bhavic Tukrel, but have added Zeeshan Mumtaz and Devansh Singh from the lower leagues.

Zeeshan scored 750 runs and took 21 wickets for Kilkenny last year and is looking to make the step up to senior cricket, while Devansh had solid stats for YM 2s and 3s. It's expected both will start in the seconds up top and a run of form will see both get a chance in the firsts.

"After a multi-year rebuild, all at the club are hopeful that 2024 is the year we can start putting consistent performances together rather than the up and down nature of previous seasons," said skipper Lynch.

"We go into the year with a very similar squad, losing only Bhavic Tukrel to work in London.

"We are very lucky to have Kevin O'Herlihy continuing as Director of Cricket, and he is luckier still to be ably assisted by Conor Byrne and Brian Kelleher. Having put in a good pre-season, we are looking forward to hitting the ground running.

"Séamus Lynch and Henry Dall will lead the way with the bat, along with one of the best all-rounders in the province in Raghav Grover.

"With the ball, Mark Thomas has overcome an injury concern and will lead the attack, ably assisted by Krispesh Shetty who is set to keep improving in just his second full season of hard ball cricket.

"We have a great group of young cricketers champing at the bit to make the step up to first team, with Gethin Kelleher likely to get a chance up the order early in the season."
