Killyclooney

  • Captain: Timmy Dougherty
  • Players in: Jamal Anwar (overseas)
  • Players out: Blayde Capell (overseas)

Timmy Dougherty is once again skipper at Killyclooney, and he will be looking to replicate the highs of last season, when right up to the final weeks of the year they were in Premiership title contention.

That was down in the most part to the incredible form of Blayde Capell who has departed to play in England, and he is replaced by former Glendermott professional Jamal Anwar.

"We are lucky in that apart from a change of pro, nobody has left, so we still have basically the same squad.

"Jamal Anwar is our overseas player this season, after being let down by our initial choice. Jamal spent a season here before, so hopefully, he knows the standards set and can get used to the conditions early on.

"Still having the same team as last year can hopefully only mean improvement from last season, with our younger players a season wiser. We have a few young players improving since last season and hope to bring them into the squad throughout the season.

"If we keep our positive mentality like last season hopefully we can cause a few upsets in our first year in the Premier One Division properly."
