Merrion
We start our previews of the domestic season with a look at the ins and outs at Merrion.
On the debit side the Anglesea road side have lost interprovincial player Jack Carty who has opted to remain in Australia, while Ireland Under 19 international Jordan Neill is trying his luck north of the border, down Stormont way.
They have secured the services though of professional Peter Francis who played a pivotal role in helping Leinster secure the Irish Senior Cup last season.
Merrion have also a new skipper at the helm with Sam Harbinson - now an Irish passport holder - taking the captain's armband.
"This league seems to be more competitive every season with many clubs getting stronger," said Merrion Head Coach Nicky Kenny.
"On the day I think anyone can beat anyone which will make it another interesting season.
"Merrion is a club that feels we should be competing for silverware every year.
"We have been disappointed to not win anything over the last couple of years and I have seen a renewed enthusiasm to get back to the top of the mountain in our pre-season efforts."
