SCOTLAND SQUAD NAMED FOR ICC CWCL2 SERIES

The Scotland squad has been named for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 (CWCL2) series against Oman and Namibia at Forfarshire CC.

The Scots return to action on home turf following a T20 World Cup campaign in which the team narrowly missed out on qualification for the Super Eights stage but impressed on the world stage once again.

Richie Berrington will lead a squad of fifteen players into four ODIs against Oman and Namibia, with Scotland continuing their defence of the ICC CWCL2 title that they won in 2023.

Steve Snell, Head of Performance, said: "We're really looking forward to being at Forfarshire for the slightly delayed series against Oman and Namibia, and we can't wait to play some exciting cricket on home soil in front of our own supporters.

"The players will be high on confidence following excellent performances in the World Cup and we've managed to keep the core nucleus of that squad together, with opportunities for other players to come in and show what they can do at the international level.

"Michael English has performed consistently across club cricket and 'A' team cricket over a sustained period of time now, and it is reward for his hard work that he will be returning to the squad after his last call-up in 2017 - and demonstrates the opportunities that there are for cricketers in Scotland to put their hand up with consistent, quality performances.

"The competitiveness for selection in this area, given the volume of runs people are scoring in domestic cricket, made for some very difficult conversations, but it's pleasing that we are in a position to be having those difficult conversations."
