Lisburn won the NCU T20 Cup for the first time chasing 128 to beat hosts Waringstown by three wickets at The Lawn.

Josh Manley (3-23) had Adam Dennison caught behind first ball and that set the tone for the innings.

Morgan Topping made an entertaining 40 (2 fours, 2 sixes), while Lee Nelson chipped in with 27 in their sub-par total of 127.

They weren't helped by overseas pro Bilawal Bhatti chipping a return catch first ball to Callum Atkinson (2-21), and a succession of batters picking out fielders in the deep.

Bhatti bowled a fine spell dismissing Jonathan Waite and Nigel Jones in successive deliveries, but Faiz Fazal hit 6 fours in a classy 45-ball 58, sharing a third wicket stand of 63 in 10 overs with Lisburn skipper Neil Whitworth (19) that broke the back of the chase.

There was a mini wobble as the finishing line approached and the rain fell, but Lisburn held their nerve to clinch the win with four balls to spare.

They will face Brigade in the All-Ireland T20 semi-final at Wallace Park on Sunday August 11th.
