Charlie Cassell had a debut to remember for Scotland as he recorded the best ever bowling figures on ODI debut today in Dundee against Oman.

After Brad Currie and Brandon McMullen took a wicket each, Cassell was brought on first change and started by taking three wickets in four balls as part of a triple wicket maiden. From there it was a procession. Gavin Main took a wicket to deny Cassell the chance of only the second ever ODI eight wicket haul and he finished with 7-21.

The record was previously held by South Africa's Kagiso Rabada who took 6-16 on his debut against Bangladesh nine years ago. Cassell's figures were the seventh best in the history of men's ODIs.

The record breaking performance helped bowl Oman out for just 91. Scotland had little trouble chasing down their target, taking 17.2 overs to secure an eight wicket win/ Brandon McMullen top scored with an unbeaten 37.
