Dragons 340/8 (50 overs: Orla Prendergast 159* (14x4, 3x6), Louise Little 60, Cara Murray 40, Alana Dalzell 29, Amy Hunter 20; Ava Canning 3-43)
Typhoons 308/5 (50 overs: Rebecca Stokell 89, Ava Canning 63, Christelle van der Schyff 50*, Zara Craig 39*, Robyn Searle 27)

Orla Prendergast hit a superb unbeaten 159 to lead the Dragons to a 32-run win over the Typhoons in the Super Series at Bready on Sunday.

The Irish international hit 14 fours and 3 sixes in her excellent 109-ball innings – the 14th century in the Super Series since it began back in 2015. The Pembroke all-rounder came within four runs of Bella Armstrong’s record score of 163 last season.

Prendergast shared stands of 134 for the 4th wicket with Louise Little - who hit 5 fours and a six in an excellent 60 – as well as a further 81 with Bready local Alana Dalzell (29). There was also late entertainment as she and Cara Murray added 63 in six overs at the end, with the Waringstown batter hitting a 20-ball 40.

Ava Canning (3-43) escaped the carnage in a Dragons total of 340 for 8.

The Typhoons chase started badly with two early run outs but Rebecca Stokell and Canning recovered to add 134. Stokell top scored with 89 (7 fours), while fellow international Canning’s 63 included five boundaries.

There was also late fun as South African Christelle van der Schyff thumped 5 fours and 2 sixes in a hard-hit 31-ball half century, adding an unbroken 77 with Zara Craig (39*) as they ended 32 runs adrift on 308 for 5.

The Dragons are back in action on Wednesday as they hope to leapfrog The Scorchers at the top of the table.
