Clontarf are the Leinster U15 Girls Cup winners after they beat Pembroke by 9 wickets at Sydney Parade.

Batting first the home side made 83 for 5, with Chloe Hiles - grand-daughter of North Down's Clarence - top-scoring with 25 (4 fours) in a total of 83 for 5.

There were family connections everywhere, with Lily Poynter - daughter of former Irish international Andrew - taking 3 for 12, with the other wicket takers Sinead Thompson and Teaghan O'Donnell.

Skipper Thompson then made 36 (5 fours, 1 six) adding 67 for the first wicket with Lela Behan (14*), with runs too for Katie O'Toole (9*) in the 9-wickets win.

Clontarf will now go forward to represent Leinster in the All-Ireland U15 Girls Cup. That takes place at Balbriggan on Friday where the Castle Avenue side will face the winners of the Lisburn versus Bready clash that is taking place beforehand.

Terenure were victorious in the U13 Girls Cup, with Lily Morgan's unbeaten 79 helping them beat Pembroke, and they too will play in the All-Ireland Cup later this month in the NCU.
