USA have made it three wins from three games in this leg of CWC League 2 after a seven wicket win over hosts Namibia today at the United Club Ground in Windhoek.
Namibian captain Gerhard Erasmus won the toss and chose to bat first and after losing JP Kotze early on, an 80 run partnership between Michael van Lingen and Zane Green got them off to a good start.
Van Lingen dominated that partnership, scoring 67 from 44 balls before he was the second man out. Green was dismissed in the next over with Malan Kruger not adding much as Namibia went from 84-1 to 88-4.
The middle order helped them recover with JJ Smit's 60 a key part of their fightback. Contributions also came from Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (49), Dylan Leicher (32) and number nine Bernard Scholtz who clubbed an unbeaten 31 from just 19 balls.
Namibia's final total was 286-9, with Shadley van Schalkwyk the pick of the USA bowlers with 4-59.
That total meant that USA needed their best even successful run chase to win the game and continue their winning start to the tour. And despite Smit Patel falling for just nine early on in their reply, they proved to be up for the task.

Andries Gous top scored with 81 from 68 balls, but the key part of the run chase was the unbroken stand of 142 for the fourth wicket between Saiteja Mukkamalla and Milind Kumar, who scored 79 and 74 respectively as the visitors secured a seven wicket win with five overs to spare.
Both teams have one more match to come against the UAE in this tri-series. USA play them on Tuesday with Namibia's turn coming on Thursday.
