There was good news this week for Woodvale as Ruhan Pretorius ended speculation about a possible move by penning a four-year deal with the club.

The 33 year-old has been at the club for four seasons, having played previously at North Down and Waringstown.

The South African born all-rounder has been one of the most prolific players in local cricket, scoring 1000 plus runs in four of the nine seasons he has been here.

His tally stands at 8056 runs at 59.24, with a record 20 centuries and 50 half centuries, with a highest score in 2023 of 230 against Derriaghy.

In addition, he has taken 94 catches as well as claiming 244 wickets at 19.05, with three five-wicket hauls.

Speaking on the Woodvale Twitter account Ruhan said: “I’m really happy to commit my future to Woodvale.

"It’s a great club to be a part of and a lovely place to play cricket. A big thank you to those who worked to put this deal together."
