England v Scotland may have been the first ever international women's cricket match - a two-day game in Worcester in 1932 with England the victors - but matches between the sides since then have been a rare beast, with an ODI in 2001 the only other meeting before today.
Scotland were an amateur side taking on a glorified England Under-19 side - the ECB don't even recognise it as an ODI - and Scotland responded to England's 262-7 by being bowled out for just 24, the third lowest total in the history of women's ODIs.
Today's Scotland are an increasingly professional set-up that features players who play professionally in both England and Australia. However England players are now all full time professionals, so the margin of defeat today showed that a gulf in class between the sides still exists.
Batting first after Kathryn Bryce won the toss, Scotland batted out their 20 overs to score 109-6. The Bryce sisters were the top scorers with Kathryn scoring 33 and Sarah contributing 27.

Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt-Hodge made short work of their target, knocking off the required runs in ten overs to win by ten wickets. Bouchier scored 62 and Wyatt-Hodge made 51.
England still have one more game to come in this World Cup, against the West Indies on Tuesday. A win will put them and South Africa in the semi-finals. Defeat and net run rate will decide which of the three teams go through.
