The home side lost Shayan Jahangir and Shadley van Schalkwyk early in their reply, with captain Monank Patel providing the bulk of the run socring at the top of the order with a knock of 52. But when he was the fifth man out, USA had only scored 115 and were firmly on the back foot.

Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Utkarsh Srivastava then added 75 for the sixth wicket to give the hosts a faint glimmer of hope before Krishnamurthi was out for 49. Srivastava took his score to 67 but the tail couldn't stay with him as USA were bowled out for 246, losing by 71 runs. Jack Jarvis was the pick of the Scottish bowlers, taking 4-40.

USA play Nepal on Saturday before this leg concludes on Monday with Scotland taking on Nepal.
