Cricket Ireland has announced the return of the Club Grant Scheme and has revealed a record funding pool – more than three times previously offered under the scheme.

The Club Grant Scheme - operated in partnership with the Provincial Unions - is also now available as a fully-online scheme increasing its accessibility for clubs around Ireland. Submissions will be accepted until 13 January 2025.

This annual scheme will provide over €160,000 in new funding for projects that deliver on club infrastructure upgrades, essential equipment purchases and the development of inclusivity projects just over 1% of the annual CI budget.

The re-introduction of the scheme after a five-year hiatus initially because of the pandemic, then due to financial issues is a key commitment as part of the new Cricket in Ireland Strategic Plan.

“We are delighted to confirm the return of an enhanced Club Grant Scheme and now invite cricket clubs around Ireland to make submissions," said CEO Warren Deutrom. "Our ambition is to be a major sport in Ireland and a major nation in cricket, and a key part of achieving this is through strengthening the grassroots and ensuring Irish cricket is a welcoming sport for all.

“The scheme seeks to find projects that not only help deliver on these ambitions, but also identify projects that support the goals of the recently launched Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Strategy.

“Cricket Ireland, in partnership with the Provincial Unions, aim to fund a wide range of projects as we view every successful project as a win for our sport. Submissions are now being accepted, so we invite all clubs to get involved in improving their club and growing our game.”
