Sophie MacMahon has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series against Zimbabwe after sustaining a knee injury during Friday's win in the first game.

The 26 year-old Leinster all-rounder won her 42nd cap yesterday, but will play no further part in the tour.

She sustained the injury while fielding in the 57-run win, and will return to Dublin this weekend.

MacMahon has played 26 T20 internationals, as well as 12 ODI's taking 22 wickets since her debut in 2017, with her highest score of 42 coming against South Africa in 2022.

Ireland have opted not to name a replacement for the remaining four matches.

The second match of the five-game series is on Sunday (11am).
